I tried to structure this device in three parts. You can see them on the pictures of my model, which is my transformation of spreading out and join heaven and earth.
...1 The first part is the board demonstrating the horizon. It has a hole in the middle and this should show the transparency and connection of earth and heaven. There shouldn’t be a clear cut between heaven and earth. This means my house for the magician can be a blurred horizon or an unclear boundary where my building becomes a sill between these two strong extremes.
...2 This sill can be created if my magic house has some parts under the earth and the others above the ground. And this leads us to my second part that my model has elements under and above the horizon. It also a symbolic meaning: The earth symbolizes the normal and the connection with the nature. On the other hand the heaven creates a link to the supernatural. Like a temporary wizard has the link to magic, but everyone just sees his human being.
...3 I tried to think about an opportunity how I can create this joining and make it visible on my model. So I created a structure, which is spreading out in its surrounding. I build some elements looking like arms and to intensify this spreading out I made them moving. You can pull on strings connected with this arms and the elements start moving. To create a link to the wizardy the strings are obscure and you never know which arm is moving when you pull on the different strings.

My next step was to look what my device “escalate and join heaven and earth” can be in our world. I looked around me and found a lot of things which fit to this theme.
For example the horizon: You can see it in very different variations like mountains, the sea or fields.
The movement of human beings is also a certain spreading out in the nature and kind of magic. I tried to make a short video about the theme of spreading out and joining heaven and earth and show examples about that which are directly in our surroundings.
